Here is the problem; depression and hopelessness typically don't go away on their own. For example, creating a work schedule that allows us to save for our future “dream vacation” is helpful and typically leads to joy and hope. But not here. It's “What’s the point? That doesn't sound fun.”
Clinical depression looks different from depression. Most people go through depression but it will resolve on its own. And they tell us this, “I used to be depressed and now I'm not.”
This just leaves you feeling worse. It lingers and interferes with how you work, play, and love.
